<-- my life, by webgoddesscathy --> :: Sunday, April 02, 2006 :: Well, this about sums up how we feel about the house inspection. Yes, there are a couple of things that they recommened we do: replace a window, fix some screens, do some touch-ups on the foundation, just to make sure it's protected from water, change the gutters, regrade the soil away from the house, so that rain doesn't collect around our house and cause water damage in the future. Pretty minor stuff, in the grand scheme of things. All in all, they gave us an above average rating among similar houses. We have a few plans of our own, though, for some other cosmetic changes: flooring, dishwasher, counter, deck. An idea on the stove/wall removal: what if you relocate the stove to where you were mentioning the dishwasher might go - and put the dishwasher where the stove is? That might accomodate your half-wall to the living room. And in the bathroom - you can buy faux-frosted glass decal in sheets at Home Depot - it just adheres to the window (we did this in our bathroom as a cheap ' n easy solution).
