In Laws

So I just got back from spending a weekend with the future in laws. Man, I do love going up there.

Went for a really nice walk with Will and Cath. I made Will go into a really scary shack to grab a rusted-out Crisco bottle for me.

I watched lots of Star Trek DVD's with Cath, Matt, and Will - although Will fell asleep through the last few episodes.

I told George (Matt's dad) that he wasn't invited to the wedding, and not to bother getting a suit (is that a career-limiting move?).

Ann (Matt's mom) doesn't think that she is doing enough to prepare for the wedding (even though she is already being the emcee, AND she made Matt - thanks Ann!). So she is trying to make the jackets for my bridesmaids (did i mention that one of them is a man?!) - I have a really pretty duck-and-paisley version being sewed right now!

Then we went to see Matt's uncles. More Star Trek discussion. Although, I do feel honoured that, after Star Trek, the next topic of discussion was the wedding. Namely, what Star Trek nerdiness will be present. But, whatever. Knowing in what high esteem they all hold Star Trek, I am quite happy to be a close second.

As far as wedding planning goes...well...I have worked more on the invitations. I think that we have actually finalized wording for them. Man, this writing bit is tough. Next in line will be bottling the wine, planning centrepieces, and hardscaping for the ceremony location. Maybe I'll write my vows the morning of.

Ya, your wedding was a hot topic. People were more interested in that than my new house!

I can't understand it.

Also, quick poll:

Kendra's having a suit jacket made to wear with her wedding dress (it'll be cold while she's waiting for pictures, as the wedding is in October).

What other options are there besides a suit jacket?

(Yes, Kendra, I'm totally judging you and trying to ruin your wedding.)

PS: don't say a shrug or a wrap as her mind is firmly closed to these "hideous" options.

I like shrugs and wraps. I think they can look quite feminine...even sexy. But seriously, who am I? I haven't been consulted. I'm just the groom.

PS - I helped with the invite wording. At least the selection of text. As yet, my level of effort on the assembly line has been quite limited to date.

I shrug my shoulders all the time,(don't know much). A wrap is either the "end" or somthing you eat. But who am I? I havn't even been invited. Career limiting? No,but it could be inheritance limiting.
